Research

Anima is a Web3 dApp designed to help users discover new crypto projects through interactive quests. It addresses a critical challenge in the crypto ecosystem: ensuring user authenticity. To guarantee that only real individuals can participate, Anima is built on Proof of Personhood (PoP) — a system that verifies individual uniqueness. The main objectives were to create an intuitive, scalable platform while ensuring that the onboarding and payment process wouldn’t become a barrier to adoption.

Design

The project began with user research and a thorough competitive analysis to identify key friction points in similar platforms. This informed the definition of a MVP focused on accessibility and simplicity, in close collaboration with the product team. We outlined a clear functional scope: a quest platform, PoP-based verification, and a built-in rewards system. From there, I structured the initial wireframes, ensuring alignment with both user expectations and technical constraints.

Development

I was responsible for the full product design scope — from UI design to usability testing. I created high-fidelity prototypes using Figma, which were then tested via Maze and refined through a series of user interviews. The goal was to validate the clarity of the verification flow, the engagement within the quests, and the readability of the rewards mechanics. After refining the experience, I documented all components and flows in Notion, and delivered a detailed handoff to developers using Linear.

Concept

This project required the design of a coherent product ecosystem, where multiple components (PoP verification, the quest platform, auction and reward systems) seamlessly interacted. The challenge was to maintain a simple and engaging user journey despite the technical complexity inherent to Web3. Anima taught me to approach design with scalability in mind from the outset, and to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team across product, tech, and operations.
